After my appointment, I went to the grocery store to get paper towels and few other things that I needed. (And a few things that I didn't.) I got back home and put everything away then had lunch with Nathan. I reached over to grab a paper towel and realized that I didn't get them at the store. Ugh. I guess we're gonna have to deal with leftover birthday party napkins for a little while longer.

Loosing my mind!
I have a classic case of pregnancy brain. This morning I was rushing around to get ready to leave for an appointment with my midwife. I grabbed my toothbrush and then reached into my drawer for toothpaste...but pulled out deodorant instead. I went as far as taking the cap off and holding it next to my toothbrush before I realized what I was doing. GROSS!

Snow day!!
We had a record snow day in Dallas yesterday! I'm not sure what the official measurement was, but I got 6 1/2 inches in my front yard after it had already had a chance to melt a little.
The schools were closed today so my husband and kids went outside and played in the snow a bit. Here are a few pics of what they did.
And of course, it's always important to remember....never and I mean NEVER eat yellow snow.

Where did the time go?
Please bare with me, I'm feeling a little nostalgic today. Last night we were at my brother & sister-in-law's house for the super bowl. She has always been real good at putting pics up on the walls of our families. I saw a pic of my 5 year old when he was barely 2 hanging up. I almost didn't recognize him myself! He looked so small. Sometimes I almost forget how quickly they grow. Then I look at my 3 year old and I think about how quickly he has gotten big. Now here I am about to have another baby. I know that she will be born and in just a few years I will be saying the same things about her. I feel like I have cherished these years as much as I know how, but somehow I wish it were possible to remember everything about my little ones; the cute little things they say, the way they look when they are mad, happy, or sad, and how their little hands feel as they touch my cheek. I get so frustrated with them sometimes when they demand so much of my time and energy. I pray that the Lord will remind me time and time again that they won't always want or need me like they do now. They will soon be too cool (and big) to sit in my lap. Someday they won't look to me for all the answers. They won't depend on me to get them dressed and make their food. These years are so short. I hope I never loose sight of that.

The Herd
Last night was Joseph's school night at Cici's pizza. After he begged to go to SEVERAL times, James and I agreed. I grabbed a BOGO coupon and we took off. Of course 2.4 minutes after we got on the road, the boys fell asleep. Nathan should be a real joy at the restaurant. :-/ So we get there, wake up the boys and go in. There's something about all you can eat pizza buffets that turn normal humans into disgusting pizza eating cattle. Not only are they cattle, but they are rude! Everyone acts so impatient, terrified that they aren't gonna get that slice of peperoni with jalapenos they've been eyeballing from down the line. After we found a table amongst the herd, I left James with the boys while I went to go get drinks. I was putting ice and drinks in the glasses while the cows would reach over me to get ice or whatever. It's not like I was taking forever. I mean, how long does it take to get a few drinks? Anyway, eventually while we were eating, we realized that Nathan needed to go to the restroom. Naturally, he started fussing because we didn't have his potty seat that we use at home...uh oh. James took a very cranky 3 year old into the bathroom to do his business. When a member of the herd would go in, you could hear Nathan yelling because he had to stand or because he didn't want to wash his hands. Joseph was disappointed because we didn't allow him to play any of the crappy little games or purchase any of the crappy little toys out of the vending machines. Then he was upset because we wouldn't allow him to have anymore desert pizza. (Just a side note, dessert pizza is possibly one of the best things ever created.) I don't think we signed up for dinner and entertainment....did we? OK, maybe we did. Then it hit me...with our own craziness going on...we had become one of "them". We had joined THE HERD!

It's ME!
Soooo, I've decided to jump on the blog bandwagon. Everyone is constantly telling me that I should write a book with the funny things my kids say. So this blog will be a big part of that and a few things about my life here and there. =)
I guess first, I've been married to my best friend, James, for 10 years. We have two handsome boys, Joseph(age 5) & Nathan(age 3). We have a daughter in heaven, Faith, who would be 7 if she were here with us. And I'm currently expecting a baby girl due in late April. Sorry folks...no name for her yet. She won't officially have one until she's born.
I'm pretty sure that my boys are the funniest kids ever created. Just an example: Last night at church we were playing a variation of "Duck, Duck, Goose" to help the kids learn the Gospels. Instead of "Duck", they were saying, "Matthew, Mark, Luke, John". When they wanted to say, "Goose", they said, "Gospels" So Nathan being the youngest kid in the class, he wasn't exactly playing by the rules. Every time someone was picked, he'd get up and run around the circle with them. Finally, one of the other kids picked him. He was so excited. He walked around the circle repeating several times, "Matthew, Mark, Luke, John". Then he couldn't wait any longer and picked someone and instead of "Gospels!", he so very proudly yelled, "Goofballs!" It was classic.
Anyway, so there's my first installment. Thanks for wasting 10 mins of your time learning a little more about us and maybe you'll do it again sometime!
